What inspired you to start making films?
I started off in film almost by accident when I ended up living on the same floor as all the film students in college. I PA’d on their films and fell in love with the collaboration and puzzle that is filmmaking.
Were there any challenges in making this project?
Filming in NY is always a challenge, especially when you have limited hours with a child actor. We had many locations and short days, so it was pushing every scene to be good but also fast.
Is there any type of message or emotion that you hope the viewer takes away from watching this film?
I hope the viewer comes away seeing the family restaurants a bit differently. Remember that these businesses are run by those with rich lives outside these walls.
How does it feel to be able to screen the film at HollyShorts?
I’m so excited to share this NY story with an LA audience in the TCL Theater with all the other incredible shorts.
What’s on the horizon for you?
Hoping to make my first feature this coming winter!
Thank you so much Lloyd for taking the time to answering our questions!
