HollyShorts Announces New Sports Short Film Category!

Today, HollyShorts made an incredible announcement with the news that they will be adding a new category, starting at this year’s festival. With its 20th anniversary coming up with this year’s festivities, this big announcement will launch the careers of a whole new generation of filmmakers whose love of the game, whichever game that is, fueling their inspiration.

To go along with this announcement, HollyShorts is pleased to announce that serving ambassador for the HollyShorts Sports category will be NBA champion and basketball legend Metta Sandiford-Artest (fka Metta World Peace) whose NBA career spanned from 1999 to 2017.

Taking place from August 8th-17th, this special 20th anniversary of the HollyShorts Film Festival will be one you don’t want to miss, especially with how much the Festival has grown over the years, with the list of awards winners getting longer as well, including two-time alumni Ben Proudfoot, whose won Oscars for both The Queen of Basketball and his latest film, The Last Repair Shop, which was also one of a staggering nine films nominated at last years Academy Awards.
