HollyShorts Announces Panels For 20th Annual Festival And 3 Day Alta Global Media Film Summit!

With the 20th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival just days away from kicking off, the announcement was made about their slate of panels that will take place during the festivities. To add to this big news, it was also announced that prior to the panel schedule, Alta Global Media (co-founded by HollyShorts co-founder Theo Dumont) will also be holding a three day Media Film Summit, with some major names joining it.

“To kick off its 20th anniversary, the HollyShorts Institute will present Alta Global Media’s
2024 Film Summit at the festival. This unparalleled panel schedule consists of innovative
sessions with industry think tanks, film finance, distribution, marketing, conversations and
workshops for filmmakers.
The festival will kick off with a three-day event within the festival at Japan House from
August 9 to 11. The summit will begin with a coffee with the festival founders Theo Dumont
and Daniel Sol on Friday, August 9. It will be followed by a Keynote from Mary-Lou Belli,
Two-Time Emmy Award winner and Primetime Emmy Award Nominee for a Comedy Series.
The summit’s second Keynote will be Actors on Actors, featuring Jimmy Jean-Louis, Roger
Guenveur Smith, and Richard Laws.”

This will be followed by three days of panels and discussions, which will be held at Japan House from August 12th through August 15th and will include intimate filmmaker drink receptions sponsored by Monarch Wine, Revella Tequila, and
Smartwater/Vitamin Water.

Panels will include Demystifying Legal for Filmmakers, Directing for Television with Mary-Lou Belli, Packaging Your Film, Marketing Your Film at Festivals to Win Awards, BECiNE’s Cinematography and the Art of Fostering Industry Relationships, Meet the Festivals moderated by Festival Formula’s Katie Bignall, ISA Presents: Short Films, Big Impact, The Power of Narrative: Importance of Telling Stories & Merging Sports + Entertainment, Distribution – Theatrical, Agents & Managers moderated by Steven Adams, Founding Partner & Manager, Alta Global Media, SAGIndie’s International Co-Productions,
Easterseals Disability Film Challenges’ Casting Authentically – Conversation and Case Studies, Higginbotham’s The Nuts & Bolts of Filming in LA, Indeed’s Shaping the Future:
Filmmakers Discuss the Future of Work and ISA Presented Short Films, Big Impact.

And to add even more to this already massive news, the festival is also unveiling its Fireside Chat lineup, which will take place at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater VIP Filmmakers Lounge, presented by Vibes Snacks, which should have more news soon.
